If you’ve ever crawled down the Pinterest rabbit hole, chances are like me, you too have come across rooms that the word “exquisite” does not even begin to accurately describe. The question then is, where to begin? Especially when you are moving into a new space, and perhaps starting from scratch with new furniture, paint, wallpaper, and decor, the opportunities are endless. Here are a few of my most recent findings that will truly allow you to make your mark on your new property, while creatively attaching your aesthetic to curate the spaces of your wildest Pinterest dreams.
Tempaper
I discovered this brand in a Vogue article highlighting this company for being an inexpensive alternative to hand-painted chinoiserie-style wallpaper from the likes of world-renowned brands De Gournay & Gracie. While the epitome of timeless elegance, these brands are a much more expensive option, and I love the styles that Tempaper offers, as sometimes remodel costs need to be more heavily prioritized than decorative touches. This wallpaper is self-adhesive, repositionable, and removable, lending itself to easy application. Here are a few of my favorite styles below, click each photo to be linked.
Pianos
Have you ever thought of incorporating one of these into a living room or foyer for a dash of dramatic flare?
The Steinway piano in this Miami Beach home has an exclusive Spirio System.
Jewel-Hued Rooms
Rich, berry-like colors that lend a warm, elegant feeling.
“As we settle into fall in Chicago, we’re thinking of enveloping spaces. Deep jewel-toned color blocking unifies this bedroom vignette and gives a sense of warmth and comfort. The nearly monochromatic inky blue envelope is the perfect backdrop to highlight the bordeaux velvet coverlet, the richly hued art, the gilded mirror and the macassar cabinets." —Tom Konopiots & Michael Stornello, Vincere, Ltd.
